Occupational therapy (OT)

OT can help with hand use, self-feeding, seating and positioning, splints, and changes at home. The Rett Syndrome Research Trust has a free OT guide for families.

Feeding and food therapy

If chewing or swallowing is hard, the IRSF guide says to see a speech or occupational therapist or a GI doctor. A swallow study can check safety if there is choking or gagging at meals.
